š AFTER FULBRIGHT: Big Announcement

When I boarded the plane to Senegal, I thought I was going to teach. I didnāt realize Iād be forever transformed.
From the chalk-dusted classrooms of Kaolack to the powerful silences of GorĆ©e Island, Fulbright gave me more than an experienceāit gave me a calling. And now, Iām ready to act on it.
š Iām proud to announce the official launch of my nonprofit organization: Stand Tall and Rise Foundation, a space where education, equity, and global empowermentĀ meet.
Our flagship program? ROOTSĀ ā Reclaiming Our Origin through Opportunity, Transformation, and Scholarship. Born from everything I witnessed and experienced abroad, ROOTS is a culturally grounded, arts-integrated, globally focused youth program that centers Black and Brown students as thinkers, problem-solvers, and leaders of their generation.
Whether weāre connecting students to global pen pals, building STEAM-powered learning kits, or leading community-based workshops, our mission is clear: to make sure the next generation never has to leave their neighborhood to access the world.
š Breaking News: D-Prize Finalist ā Senegal, Weāre Coming!
Iām thrilled to announce that Iāve been named a FINALISTĀ for the D-Prize Global CompetitionĀ for my proposal to launch a main-scale Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL)Ā program right here in Senegal!
⨠Out of thousands of applicants worldwide, I was selected for my bold vision to tackle educational inequity head-on by helping students master foundational skills in reading and math through targeted, age-appropriate, data-driven instructionābecause every child deserves to learn at a level that meets them where they are.
Through this grant opportunity, I will:
š± Launch an on-the-ground pilot programĀ rooted in Teaching at the Right LevelĀ strategies,
š©š¾āš« Train and support local educators with tools for differentiation and remediation,
š Use real-time assessment to move students from struggling to soaring.
This isnāt just a projectāitās a promise: to center community voice, shift outdated instruction models, and scale equitable accessĀ across classrooms in Senegal and beyond.
Fulbright lit the spark. D-Prize is helping fan the flame.
Letās build something powerful together. š”
š After Fulbright: New Chapter, Global Impact!
Iām honored to officially share that Iāve been selected to join the Fulbright Specialist RosterĀ for a three-year term! š
This incredible opportunity allows me to collaborate with institutions around the world on short-term, high-impact education projectsābringing my passion for global learning, culturally responsive teaching, and STEAM-based innovation to international classrooms and communities.
As a Fulbright TGC Alumna, this next chapter builds on the foundation I laid in Senegal where I witnessed firsthand the power of cross-cultural exchange, community-rooted education, and purpose-driven teaching.
As a Fulbright Specialist, Iāll now be able to:
āļø Travel globally to support education systems through customized capacity-buildingĀ initiatives.
š©š¾āš« Serve as a thought partner to schools, NGOs, and ministries of education around equity-centered teachingĀ and student empowerment.
š Launch workshops, curriculum design sessions, and education innovation labs that reflect the heart of who I am as a global educator and community builder.
This is a divine alignment. A reminder that when you serve with purpose, the doors will open to make global change, one classroom at a time.
š Letās rise higherātogether.
