Welcome to Hollywood
Founded by Astra Armstrong, Stand Tall And Rise (S.T.A.R. Entertainment L.L.C.) is more than just a Performing Arts Entertainment company for kids—it is a reflection of my journey, my passion, and my purpose for STEAM Education. Born from my personal experiences navigating adversity, S.T.A.R. was created as a beacon of hope, resilience, and opportunity for those who, like me, have faced unimaginable challenges yet refuse to be defined by them.
"Creating Art That Breaks Barriers"

Mission Statement
Growing up in an environment where the odds were stacked against me, I found my salvation in the arts. Theater, writing, and performance became my escape, my voice, and ultimately, my power. Through S.T.A.R. Entertainment, I am building a legacy that gives others that same power—the chance to rise above their circumstances, embrace their talents, and create their own success stories.

This brand is a testament to perseverance, a space where artistry meets advocacy, and a movement designed to uplift communities through the transformative power of performance. Stand Tall And Rise is more than a name; it is a declaration. No matter where you come from or what you've been through, you have the power to stand tall, rise above, and shine.
Introducing S.T.A.R.

The Story
Ms. Astra Armstrong - Native of Washington, DC, is a proud alum of The Duke Ellington School of the Arts, and recent graduate of Norfolk State University. An avid writer, playwright, and Director. Ms. Armstrong's words earned her the opportunity to perform with many greats including the late Maya Angelou, Patti Labelle, and others before she finished high school. Ms. Armstrong is the definition of perseverance. From navigating her mother's tragic and untimely death as a freshman in high school to losing her brother during her senior year of college, Ms. Armstrong has turned tragedy into triumph through her commitment to serve others.
The Journey
So much about the way I grew up suggests that I shouldn’t be here. Growing up in the inner city as a Black girl whose parents were in and out of jail, and in a domestic violence relationship a lot of people around me expected that I would have a similar fate. My mother was trying to raise my brothers and I, and keep a roof over our heads while fighting her own battles with addiction. As a result, we were often forced to bounce from house to house, stay in shelters, and sometimes even outside.
